"Argo","Django",James Bond anniversary movie and these are only a few viewing experiences that made an impact. It seems Movie industry have made a turn for the best and for creating movie worth watching?!Even directors are getting better with a major comeback from Ben Affleck and his career resurrected.
For a very long time i used to hate to go for a weekend movie and unfortunately that was mostly due to the overly-used and recycled movies.
At a certain point the movies were so predictable that there was no point watching them because they were the same movies with different actors. You knew who would live and who would die....
(we love you Sean Bean)
With the few exceptions of some superhero movies and masterpieces like LOTR everything else was, pretty much crap. And no 3D doesn't make any movie better, garbage is garbage even if it right in front of you...
But lately i've noticed something different and that is the use of graphic novels, books and comics as a base for a movie, which had some terrific (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) results and some not so terrific such as "Cloud Atlas" which was a poor execution in my opinion. Also except Michael Bay almost all actors and directors don't hunt anymore action packed films and prefer more story based movies such as Argo. This creates a palette of movies that we didn't have for years and now is available for us.
Not to point out the overuse of super hero movies which until a decade or so before hadn't even start.
Which i can really decide if it's good or bad, because at some point they may try to create a new Batman trilogy or just mess with it and the audience will flip out.
Nerd Attack:
But another issue is the lack of creativity anymore, almost all movie going out are franchises or based on comics or book. It's like finally the nerds or geeks or how everyone was mocked at school is getting his revenge on the world! Those people on the park or beach that always had a book to read pretty much know every movie that will come out in a few months, years or so.
3D sucks:
When i first heard of 3D i was freaking exxxcited (yes triple x!) because every dream i had as a kid was to see a movie in the third dimension. But when i got there, the third dimension didn't existed. It was just an overpriced ticket for a crap film that was based on 3D so that it would create some kind of screen-coming-on-you experience. Also because i wear glasses i had to put both the 3D and my glasses on top of each other.
I don't hate, i like the effort, but i think it should take a few more years to improve it and make it perfect..
So..the only think i have to do now is to wait for "50 Shades of Grey" on fully 3D and see how it won't end up being just about sex!
